We noticed that impoverished children that we enrolled in school needed help to succeed because (1) they missed earlier grades, (2) their parents are illiterate and cannot help them, and (3) they live in conditions that are not conducive to studying.  This led to our School Success program.  EFI provides a small allowance ranging from $12 to $24 per month, to help 20 churches make their meager facilities available as study centers in the evening.  Members of the church serve as tutors.  Poor families are impressed by how local Christians help their children.  Many of the parents have become Christian.  When school is in session, about 400 children attend our programs each evening, six days per week.
